LA TIMES COVERS THE BIG BYPASS STORY
As you have probably heard by now, there is considerable buzz over the possibility that the LA Dept. of Water & Power will drain the Reservoir to install the new bypass conduit in the lake bed, rather than tunneling under West Silver Lake Dr., the grassy knoll and adjacent streets. The Silver Lake Reservoirs Conservancy is staying on top of developments. We are evaluating alternatives that may minimize the extent of lake draining and respect the needs of those most impacted by construction, to determine what mitigation would be appropriate, and what will best serve the interests and needs of our community.
