LOCATION: Across from 2300 Silver Lake Boulevard

It's hard to think of Silver Lake Reservoirs without envisioning Silver Lake Meadow. Prior to 2011, however, that space was a nearly impenetrable tangle of dead trees and blackened stumps. This dark and mysterious wasteland was kept behind an 8-foot fence for passersby to wonder about and run from. SLRC worked for several years with CD13 to overcome opposition and open this space to the public.

Now it's a 2.5-acre park where children fly kites and toss Frisbees, people picnic and watch the sunset over the hills. Runners and walkers stroll through while admiring the native plants that now line the path.
